For the most part, this engine is almost complete as the main missing component is the engine barrel. NOTE: See all of the images as there is a collection of small components including some nice little capped bolts, together with a serviceable mag drive wheel.

Condition of this 1919 Vintage Triumph Model H motorcycle engine
I have cleaned the cases and inspected them for any serious damage. I don’t see any obvious cracks or large nicks. This is a great spare engine for someone. I have not over-cleaned it as some people like to have the patina retained.
For an engine, this 1919 vintage Triumph Model H motorcycle engine looks like it could be put to use fairly quickly. The piston came with it. The cast iron piston looks to be in decent shape and still has the piston rings. The rings move as they should.
As you can see, the threads for the cylinder barrel look fine. The threads on the drive-end of the crankshaft look OK. The keyway is undamaged. The flywheels need a good clean. One has more surface rust than the other.
The engine mounting holes all seem OK. There is evidence of the usual scrapes on the underside (shown) but it’s not bad at all.
Bottom line, this 1919 vintage Triumph Model H motorcycle engine is in decent condition but requires a rebuild. It will need additional components to make it complete.
