1920 to 1923 Vintage Sturmey Archer 2-speed TS Lightweight gearbox with parts to go.
The Sturmey Archer TS lightweight gearbox was supplied to a variety of vintage motorcycle makers. As the years of production only ran from 1920 to 1923, you should be able to ascertain if this might suit your bike.
The numbers on the case is TS13637 and the number on the cover is TS14311. This puts the lightweight 2-speed in the second year of production for the TS type Sturmey Archer, 1921. See this page: Sturmey Archer gearbox models and dating by numbers
This gearbox is ready to go. Please take time to go through the images. It comes with the belt pulley and sprocket / clutch arrangement. The number of teeth on the sprocket is 40 teeth.
The main case and cover are both stamped with different numbers. They are from within the same year (1921) but they definitely started out from the factory with different boxes. I have not had the gearbox apart, but it looks to me that the facings have been paired up nicely. It all turns beautifully too.
Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.
Shipping: I usually ship to most destinations. If you don’t see a price, please ask. Thanks. International shipping available.
Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.
Payment: Good old fashioned money on collection is preferred. I can accept payment through PayPal or by bank transfer as well.
Import Taxes: (I need to mention this as I had someone buy something from me and they were based in Europe. They thought I should list the item including all taxes and shipping. Considering import duties vary enormously, this is impractical even if it was possible). Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
