1920’s / 30’s Chater-Lea vintage flat tank motorcycle SV engine, Chater Lea Motor
Shipping available to most countries. The motor turns and the piston is in there. Sold as you see it and still with some grime on it. It’s being sold for refurbishment with some minor parts missing. Good fins. Matching case numbers.
The number on the engine suggests that this is the original Chater Lea engine, as opposed to the Blackburne variant that Chater Lea liked to use at the time. I’m no CL expert, just an enthusiast, so I’m sure there’s someone out there who can enlighten me on the year of manufacture. My best guess is that this motor was made sometime close to the closure of the company in 1936.
This would make a good spare to keep just in case you need the parts for your Chater-Lea. Or, build it up and use it.
The engine numbers are clear and appear unmolested.
