1920’s Amac T25 Brass carburettor in good overall condition.
Would suit mid-size pre-1923 vintage motorcycles.
I only have a parts catalogue that goes back to 1923 and then goes right up to the demise of AMAC. I imagine that this carb was made between 1911 and 1922. My best guess is 1920-22 but I’d love to be educated as I have a few more like this.
The Stamps read “CX 593” and the other stamp is very feint but it looks like “T25” then an “X”. So, I have stated that I believe this is a 1920’s Amac T25 Brass carburettor. In 1923 / 24 Amac has “HX” as a prefix and in 1925, they had “MX”.
“CX” must be from the very early 1920’s. If you apply a little logic regarding the letter sequences, this carb is likely to be 1922.
- Note that this combination has the bottom feed on the float chamber.
- It comes with the two cables as shown in the images.
- I am not convinced that there is a main needle.
It seems to be pretty complete and would do someone very nicely. It even has the “mushroom” in good condition. It’s aged and with marks but is just how I like them, with a little patina. However, please look at the images and check for missing parts.
- Outside diameter of the manifold: 1-1/8″
- Inside diameter of the manifold: 1″
Condition of the Amac T25 Brass carburettor.
I have taken it apart and shown all of the pieces that are available. There are a few parts that are missing. The slide shows wear.
If you want this carb completely refurbished, let me know and I can organise it for you. It’s for sale as you see it.
Other vintage motorcycle brass carburettors
Other than this Amac T25 Brass carburettor, I have a few available. These include some remote needle TT carbs and some more brass carbs including Amal. See the vintage motorcycle carburettors for sale here.
