1920’s Models N & P petrol tank for Triumph flat tank motorcycles.
I believe this Triumph fuel tank is for the N & P models around 1925 to 1928. In 1924, the rear of the tank had a different profile.
The Triumph Model P was one of the most-produced models at that time. There are still many of them on the road today.
Approximate dimensions are:
- Length overall: 23″ (58.5cm)
- Max width: 9-1/2″ (24cm)
- Max height: 4″ (10cm)
You can buy a new petrol tank for Triumph flat tank motorcycles. But, is it made of decent steel? Are the mount holes in the correct positions? Obviously, a new one isn’t original. Have this one on your shelf as a spare. It’s priced much less than a new one.
Condition of the petrol tank for Triumph flat tank motorcycles
It’s now missing almost all of the original paint. However, it’s solid and the underside is very good. There are a couple of small repairs on the underside. One is around one of the tank fixing points and the other is around the fuel outlet for the tap. Both seem like decent (and neat) repairs.
There is a tiny dink on the top right shoulder of the tank. See the images.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.
