1920’s Senspray carburettor for vintage motorcycles with 2.5 to 3.5 HP engines & 1″ spigot connection.

  • 1″ connection.
  • 2.5 HP to 3.5 HP vintage motorcycles
  • Bottom feed float chamber c/w float & needle.
  • Brass float chamber & Mazac main body
  • For 2 to 3 HP single cylinder motorcycles, & 3-1/2 HP Twins
  • Downward facing cable connections
  • Fuel adjustment on the air inlet side.

The die cast (Mazac) versions replaced the iron (steel) bodied Senspray carbs in 1920.

Many vintage motorcycles had this type of Senspray carburettor fitted. The “Standard” model has a 1″ stub fitting and that was the most common version. That’s the size of this Senspray carburettor. I currently have various sizes available. When they are gone, they’re gone.

Senspray offered other versions. For example, the 750cc Rudge had a 1-1/4″ stub fitting. There were also other Senspray cable entries into the main body. This one has both cables entering the body from the underside and at an angle. Note that the float chamber is a bottom-feed type.

In addition to a few iron bodied Senspray carbs, I happen to have some others like this Senspray carburettor made from Mazac.

Condition of the Senspray carburettor.

This is a lovely Senspray carburettor for vintage motorcycles. It’s just as you see it in the images. It’s not perfect, but OK. There are marks to both the body and the float chamber. The brass cap for the float chamber has now lost most of the original nickel plating. However, it does come with the tickler. There is no screw-on filter with this.

There is a small repair to the body on one side of the mount. I have shown it in the images.

I removed both of the caps to show both ends of the main body internals. See the images.

I have also removed the float bowl cap to show that it has both the needle and the float.
