1920’s Triumph Model N & Q petrol tank for vintage flat tank motorcycles
I believe this Triumph fuel tank is for the N & Q models around 1927 to 1929.
Please use the dimensions below as your guide as Triumph made a similar (smaller) fuel tank.
Approximate dimensions are:
- Length overall: 22″ (56cm)
- Max width: 11″ (28cm)
- Max height: 4-1/2″ (11.5cm)
You can buy a new petrol tank for Triumph flat tank motorcycles. But, is it made of decent steel? Are the mount holes in the correct positions? Obviously, a new one isn’t original. Have this one on your shelf as a spare. It’s priced much less than a new one.
Condition of the Triumph Model N & Q petrol tank
It is old and unrestored. It has a few very old (good) repairs. You can see them in the images. The tank is solid. When you move the tank about, it sounds like a baffle plate has come loose. There is a small dink at top right.
You are very welcome to come and check it over before you buy.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.
Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.
