1932-1948 Velocette MOV 250cc engine spare parts inc Cylinder barrel, Cyl head, Rocker box & Piston with pin.
I have these Velocette 250cc top-end engine parts available. They are for the MOV model as the bore is STD size for the 250cc at 68.5mm.
The following parts are what is included in this sale:
- – Rocker Box with caps and rocker arms.
- – Cast iron cylinder head with valves and springs fitted
- – Engine barrel that appears to have been “shaved” of some fins. (I think this might have been destined for racing and perhaps with methanol)
- – Piston with pin.
You will see in the pictures that I loosely fitted the parts to a set of MOV engine cases that are from approximately 1934. The cases are not included in the sale. I am merely demonstrating that the parts fit the cases. If you want to buy the cases as well, I am sure we will come to an arrangement. They are for sale.
Condition of the Velocette MOV 250cc engine spare parts
Good, overall. Both the cylinder head and the barrel have good fins. Although, as already mentioned, the barrel has been “shaved” of some fins. The rocker box is complete with decent rocker arms and has the covers/ caps. The piston appears to have been shaped a bit. I can’t say why. However, it’s clear that the previous owner was into racing vintage motorcycles and there is a good chance that he has deliberately altered the piston. The piston has 2 out of 3 rings. It is what it is. Please study all of the images.

- – A BTH single cylinder magneto (currently untested)
- – A nice timing cover. It would have been on the Venom or Viper. I think an MOV this old would have had a different shape.
- – Some pushrods and a pushrod tube
- – Some Venom timing gears
- – Oil pump
- – Set of 1932-35 engine cases for a MOV
