1936 350cc Triumph T80 frame. Also 250cc Triumph T70.
This is an unusual frame design. It has a duplex arrangement for the front down-tubes. Val Page was moving on with improvements to the frame designs and bought out this arrangement for the 1936 350cc Triumph T80 and the 250cc Triumph T70. I happen to own a couple of 1937 Tiger 70’s and, by then, Triumph had gone back to a single front down-tube.
If you are looking to build a correct 1936 Triumph 350 or 250cc model, then this is the frame for you. I don’t need it as my engines are 1937-39.
The frame number is shown in the images and is clear. It has not been messed about with. The number begins with “SL.” which indicates that it’s for the 1936 350cc Triumph T80 frame, also 250cc Triumph T70.

Condition of the Triumph T80 frame
Well, it is used but still strong. It’s doing it’s best to rival the technicolour dreamcoat, but the lugs are there and it appears to be straight. The lowest lugs on the duplex tubes are the most affected by time, but they are still fine to use.
As mentioned earlier, the original stamp for the frame numbers is in the correct place and unmolested. Someone has cleaned up the frame cast number on the side. I imagine they thought it might be the frame number. That number begins with an “F”.
