1945 Triumph Speed Twin 5T engine cases 500cc Twin with clear engine number.
Now that Speed Twins just either side of WW2 are popular, engine cases like these are very hard to find. So, here’s your chance. Even if you have a 1945 / 1946 Triumph Speed Twin / 5T all up-and-running, this set of engine cases are handy to have as an insurance policy. It worked for me. I have loads of spare engine parts and the bikes never went wrong!
The engine halves are an original pairing from factory. The case half numbers match. The engine number is unmolested and clear. The engine number is shown in the images. The number begins with “45 5T”. Imagine that. This set of cases must have been produced just after WW2.
Condition: Well they are now almost 80 years old. Someone has done a good job with welding them up. The weld needs tidying. I have shown images from inside the cases as well as outside. The threads look OK to me. I would always suggest to just run a tap through just to clean them up before a rebuild.
