1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T 650cc twin with rigid frame completely rebuilt – needs paint only.
This beautifully restored Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle is available because a friend is having a clear-out to make space for a new project. He restores his motorcycles to the very highest standard. They always have the correct parts and he doesn’t cut corners.
NOW SOLD
He has got the project to the point where it needs the restored speedometer fitting (correct one of course). It will be supplied and fitted. This bike will be sold as a running and riding rebuilt bike that only needs paint. You can decide if you want to have a black Thunderbird and do the whole “Marlon Brando” from The Wild One. Or, you can go down the traditional route and have it painted in the correct colour for a 1950 Triumph Thunderbird.
The rigid Triumph Thunderbird is probably THE rigid framed post war motorcycle to have if you like Triumphs. They are very comfortable and the engine has plenty of low-down power. It will keep up with traffic, yet it’s light enough for town.
What has Andy done on this 1950 Triumph Thunderbird so far?

1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T 650cc twin with rigid frame completely rebuilt – needs paint only
Well, pretty well everything. The engine has been rebuilt. The magneto and dynamo have been rebuilt. Of course, the front forks have been rebuilt. Andy didn’t shy away from opening up the infamous sprung hub. Everything inside the rear hub was cleaned, greased, and rebuilt.
If you are in the UK, the best thing to do is to come and take a look. You can discuss what Andy has done directly with him. If he still has his beautiful 1946 Speed Twin, you can see how good his restoration work is as the rebuild was over 10 years ago.
What needs to be done to this rigid framed Triumph Thunderbird?
Not a lot. Just paint.
How to view the Triumph Thunderbird
It is located in Northampton, UK. Get in touch with me here, and I will connect you with Andy, the owner.
If you can’t come and see it yourself, I’d be happy to do a video for you. Better still, I could do a live video connection, with Andy and the machine present.
Transportation
Transport and International shipping can be organised.
