1955 Norton 19S motorcycle engine cases in decent condition.
This set of cases came to me along with some other Norton motorcycle parts that I needed for an ES2. They are not required for any of my projects as I don’t plan on rebuilding a 19S.
The Norton Model 19S ran from 1926 to 1939. Norton then began producing this sidecar model again just Post-War and ran right up to 1958. It was the long stroke (113 stroke) version of the Model 18.
The number on the engine cases denotes an engine supplied in 1955. So, this is a set of cases supplied on a motorcycle just three years before they ended supply.
There is nothing inside the Norton 19S motorcycle engine cases. You just get the case halves and the four long studs. Although, you do get the tappets as shown in the images.
The engine number is clear and hasn’t been messed about. The number is shown in the images.
The cases have matching numbers (photographed) with N857 stamped on the inside of each case half.
Condition of the 1955 Norton 19S motorcycle engine cases
- Generally good.
- No welds or cracks.
- There is a small amount of corrosion on the lower part. The stud hole threads must be decent as the studs don’t wobble about.
