Ariel VB600 Side Valve motorcycle cylinder barrel with valves, springs, tappets & valve spring cover.
This may suit a 550cc model as I believe both the VB600 and the 550cc Ariel motorcycles had a STD bore of 86.4mm. The bore on this barrel is around 87.4mm.
Condition: It is for sale as you see in the images. Very few chipped fins. The valves are fitted. Under the original ali valve spring cover (number A7/476), it has the springs and tappets. The bore is reasonable. There are no nasty scraped or gouges. It has very light flush of corrosion. It would come off with a very light hone. It has the valve de-compressor fitted. Note that two cylinder head studs are missing.
I don’t have other parts like the cylinder head or piston. This barrel came with a load of parts that I needed for another motorcycle. If I have other Ariel vintage motorcycle parts, they will be here.
As I am not intimately familiar with this model, I have no idea if it is a pre-war, or post-war, Ariel VB600 side valve motorcycle cylinder barrel. I will leave you to be the judge of that.
