Minerva C. 1907/8 SV Pioneer Veteran Motorcycle Front Cylinder V-Twin barrel and head.
73mm, 4.5hp, 577cc.
After many hours of searching through images of early 20th Century Pioneer motorcycles, I gave up until Leon from Adelaide informed me that it is likely a Minerva barrel and head.
Thanks to him being very specific, I am happy to advertise this as a front barrel from a 577cc V_twin Minerva from around 1907 / 1908. I have included two images of a 1908 Minerva engine so that you can compare. Note the placement of the primer cup in these images. With this cylinder head, it looks like the little primer hole has been brazed up. have a look at the picture of inside the head.
Apparently STD bore was 70mm. This one is closer to 73mm. The fins are nice. The bore will need cleaning up and probably lining.
You will know how difficult it is to find with fins in this condition.
Useful as a spare if you are lucky enough to own a 1907 1908 Minerva V-Twin.
