Early 1950’s original pre unit Thunderbird 6T Triumph fuel tank CLEAN inside & good overall condition.

I believe this is an original steel gas tank for a vintage Triumph 6T, Thunderbird motorcycle. It might suit other 650cc pre-unit Triumphs like the T110 or the Bonneville. Please check the mount dimensions below before you go ahead and buy.
There were various versions of the petrol tanks for the 1950’s Triumph motorcycles. The T100 tank was a little smaller. I think this is the 4 gallon one. Anyway, it looks just like the tank that I had on my Thunderbird.
It has that faded look and comes with the tank rack. It would suit a patina machine as it is. The colour on the sides is the original Polychromatic Blue.
Condition of the 6T Triumph fuel tank
Very clean inside.
The colour on the sides is the original Polychromatic Blue. This is correct for the 6T / Thunderbird. They used a different blue initially. But Polychromatic blue came after that and was around for a few years.
Look closely at the paint on the top. I am not sure what has happened, but the blue on top is a little different. It blends well though.
It comes with the tank badge strips and one “Triumph” badge. these can easily be bought.
The underside is generally very good. However, someone has made a repair on the lower left seam. I have shown a few pictures of it.

- Centres between the front mounts: 5″ (12.8cm)
- Centres between the rear mounts: 5″ (12.8cm)
- Centres between the front & rear mounts: 14-7/16″ (36.25cm)
