Early brown original vintage large Dunlop Drilastic motorcycle saddle with springs & badge
This is an original prewar Dunlop Drilastic saddle. I believe it might be quite an early one. By the look of it, it would suit a veteran motorcycle.
I have seen plenty of black Dunlop Drilastic saddles, but have to admit that I haven’t seen a brown one of this size before. There is a very clear image of the original badge. The saddle also has some wear from age.
It comes with the frame, seat post bracket and springs.
Dimensions are approximate:
- 13″ wide
- 15″ long
- Between the spring centres (approx): 7-1/2″
- Supplied with the springs.

Condition of the large Dunlop Drilastic motorcycle saddle
It’s old, so it has marks from use. I have shown images of the aged wear and slight cracking to the saddle top. The cracking does not go through.
The rivets are still well fixed.
The badge is well attached.
The frame is very good and the springs are possibly replacement ones.
Overall, this large Dunlop Drilastic motorcycle saddle is a seat that I would happily fit to a veteran or vintage motorcycle.
