Joseph Lucas #420 King of the Road 5 inch lens carbide acetylene front lamp for flat tank vintage veteran motorcycles.
This front headlamp is one of a number from a collection. They are all now going up for sale as I have no need for all of them.
This Lucas King of the Road front lamp is in nice used condition. It would suit a machine with a little patina as it’s not perfect.In fact, it has had a “ding” on the back pf the lamp at some point. It has been filled rather than beaten out.I have shown it in the images. On the inside of the ding, it must have broken the reflector. I still have most of the parts if you need to get one made. However, I think there are suppliers of the reflectors out there.
I have shown the inner parts in the images. It all works sine regarding the opening and closing of the front cover. The clasp and hinge are fine.
The lens diameter is 5″.
These Lucas King of the Road acetylene lamps are hard to find now. They are especially difficult to find in this condition, with a little patina.
