Joseph Lucas rear reflector lamp. Model is Signa #329 for veteran & vintage motorcycles.
Original light reflector for early antique motorbikes in patina condition. It would look great on a pioneer machine.
This is not one of those carbide rear tail lights where you create acetylene gas and burn it inside the lamp. It appears to be just a reflector that is bolted on the rear of your vintage, or veteran, motorcycle.
The rear of the lamp has the inscription JOS Lucas Ltd, Birmingham together with the Model Signa, No 329.
- Approximate diameter of the rear red lens: 1-3/8″, or 37mm
- Approximate diameter of the “front” with the inscription: 2″ or 50mm.
I have not attempted to take the rear section of the lamp off.
Condition of the Lucas rear reflector lamp.
It is in unrestored condition. It still has some of the nickel plate on the back, where the inscription of the model shows.
As you can see from the images, the metal has “torn” a little. It seems to have stabilised. The mount is firmly attached and the red lens is without any cracks.
Despite appearances, the nut for the mount does turn freely.
