A lovely patina Lucas rear carbide lamp Model B116, in original Nickel plate for vintage & veteran motorcycles.
These pretty little carbide acetylene lamps are quite sought after. As far as I am aware, they are not being reproduced. They are ideal for motorcycles up to around 1930. But they suit veteran motorbikes as well as vintage ones.
The B116 model is one within a range of very similar Joseph Lucas rear lamps. I have owned a few. They vary in design including the shape of the side window and the mounting. This Lucas rear carbide lamp Model B116 does not have a side window. It only has the ruby red rear lens. The mounting is via a single bolt attachment. Other models had three bolt attachments.
Condition of the Lucas rear carbide lamp Model B116
This is a lamp that still has some of its original nickel plate. It’s worn here and there, but shows lovely patina. The chimney is not on level but you are unlikely to notice this when it is fitted to your motorcycle. It has the burner fitting inside. The hinge and clasp both work well. The acetylene gas pipe nozzle is fitted.
Other Vintage or veteran carbide lamps and generators – Front, Rear and sidecar lights
I have a few vintage /antique motorcycle headlights that work with acetylene gas created from carbide generators. I also have some generators and tail lights. Please see my other carbide listings. They are mostly Miller, Lucas King of the Road and P & H. However, I have some unusual ones too.
