Placed on the site for “Tony” to look at before going on sale.
The stamped case number is M14592.
Numbers inside the outer cover are 040406.
I mention the numbers inside the outer cover as that may help you to decide if this is correct for your needs. Commando boxes seem to fetch daft amounts of money, so please check carefully.
The approximate dimensions of the mounts are:
- Centre to centre: 18.3cm
- Width of each mount: 9cm
I have removed the outer cover just to make sure it was OK. As you can see, it’s fine. It turns OK to. I haven’t taken it completely apart. The outer cover will need some new bolts. It doesn’t have any.
The mounts are in good condition. The case appears to be free from major damage and any cracks.
I have a very similar gearbox with half of the gears missing and it has an AJS cover. If you need a spare, let me know. The AJS gearbox mounts are 8cm wide as opposed to 9cm for this box.
