I’m not certain, but this might suit the 350cc Prewar Norton Model 50. I understand that the 1933-on Model 50 had a flat top (similar to this one), but this might still suit that model. I can’t find a specific reference to this particular Specialloid domed piston. It’s similar to one that the prewar Triumphs used. It might work for a 3H or a T80. So, the best thing to go on is the dimensions and decide for yourself.
- The width of the piston is 71.3mm (It states Plus 20 on the top)
- The total height (including the dome) is about 73mm
- The approximate distance from the centre of the pin to the top of the crown is 40mm
- The pin diameter is 7/8″
- The approximate distance from the centre of the pin to the top edge of the piston is about 34mm.
Condition of the Specialloid domed piston
It appears to be NOS. There are marks from storage but I don’t believe it has been used. The rings are all there and they move as they should. The gudgeon pin is installed but it will need to be freed off a little.
