Original 1966-1970 SLIM Triumph Export tank for TR6C, T120TT, T120R classic motorcycles.
This is the one that everyone wants. It’s slimmer and prettier than the British specification. The T120TT (my favourite in red) with the centre stripes accentuates just how narrow this tank is. I have shown how it compares to a 1966 T100 / T90 fuel tank below. (The red one is not included!)
It’s a used tank. I bought it as I wanted to see how it looked on a prewar Triumph special that I am building. It looks great but the centre seam will probably interfere with the pull-back handlebar mounts. So, I am going to use a pre-unit Triumph T100 tank instead. That’s the only reason this tank is available.
It will need paint, of course.
You can pay £350 for a newly made one from Taiwan if you like. Or have this one for almost half that.
To recap, this is the 2-1/2 Gallon Slimline US Export version
For use with the F6887/8 Badges on early models, or 82-9700/1 Badges on later models. It comes with one badge as shown.
The original part numbers are F6728 82-6728, F9207 82-9207, F11798 83-1798, F11801 83-1801
Condition of the Triumph Export tank
Used and needing paint.
It’s clean inside, but will still need a clean-out. It’s not perfect in there but is no disaster either. I have shown an image of the inside.
There is a small ding at the back left side. I have shown it in the pictures.
Other vintage Triumph parts to go with this Triumph Export tank
I’ve had a few pre-unit Triumphs. Consequently, I built up a stock of spares to keep them going. I now have less post-war Triumphs, so I am selling some of the spares. Please take a look at the Triumph parts for sale here. The selection includes prewar Triumph spares too. If you can’t find what you need, I might have it. Contact me.
