Original Triumph fuel gas petrol tank.

1949 / 1950 3T De Luxe, T100, Speed Twin 5t motorcycles.

I happen to have a 1947 Triumph 3T De Luxe. I bought this as a spare for that bike. My 1947 has the panel in the tank. Clearly this one doesn’t. It turns out that it’s for the 1949 / 1950 Triumph motorcycles. Note the lack of centre seam which was introduced in 1951.

The tank is in ochre primer just to keep it sound. It’s kept in a warm, dry, environment. It’s nice and clean inside. Although it looks like someone painted it in there. There is the tiniest amount of corrosion and I’ve done my best to show this with the internal pics.

The threads are good. Although I have not shown it, you can have the tank rack with it. The previous owner had painted it grey. It will come with the bolts to attach.

The tank mounts are sound and both of the tap threads are fine.

Bottom line. This is a decent original Triumph fuel / gas / petrol tank for models from 1949 / 1950:

  • 3T De Luxe
  • T100
  • Speed Twin / 5t

Import Taxes: Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
