Pilgrim Duplex prewar motorcycle engine oil pump with Scott Flying Squirrel mount.
This dual sight glass Pilgrim oil pump is mounted to an arrangement that I have only seen on a 496cc 1929 Scott Flying Squirrel. To be honest, I’m not really sure what the addition does, other than gear the pump, I guess. (It’s always a school day – so please educate me).
Anyway, this is one of the highly desirable duplex Pilgrim pumps. They are used on many pre-1930 motorcycle engines including Blackburne, JAP etc. So, this is a good conventional Pilgrim oil pump where you can remove the “extension” for a Scott and retain the pump for your engine.
If you happen to need one for a Scott Flying Squirrel, then the lower bracket has two mounts. The distance between the mount centres is 2-1/16″.
I get asked if I have any mechanical Pilgrim oil pumps all the time. Here’s your chance.
