This Front or rear Girder Fork Norton wheel hub is one of a number that I have had for some time. They are all going up for sale as I don’t plan to build up any more Norton projects, unless they are pre-1930.
They range from front / rear girder fork type cotton reel hubs from 1933 through to a 1954 hub. Some of the wheels are usable. Others are clearly not serviceable. I am only pricing the items as if they are just the hub anyway.
If you don’t want the rim, I can cut the hub out and send just the hub.
Unlike some of the other Norton hubs that I have, this one does NOT have the cast numbers in one of the three indents. I have no idea of that is significant with dating, but I thought I would mention it.
Condition of the Prewar Girder Fork Norton wheel hub.
As stated, I am really only pricing this as if you are buying just the hub. Of course, if you want the wheel rim as well, I will include it. It looks like a Dunlop rim but I haven’t tried very hard to clean it up.
The hub is used and will need cleaning / refurbishing. The rim is probably past being used again. It might clean up. Someone painted black over the original chrome.
