Rudge 250 Sports engine cases (1934) Flywheel, conrod and Pair of cams.
From the engine number (shown in the images) this is a Rudge 250 Sports model engine from 1934. It would a 4-valve cast iron open valve cylinder head, bolted to the barrel. If you are fortunate enough to have the cylinder head and barrel, then you have the makings of an engine.
As I understand it, this little 250 engine would suit frame numbers between 52196 and 53960. Of course it may suit other frame numbers, but that’s the number range for the Rudge 250 Sports model in 1934. The engine number range was from T1 to T750. The number on these cases are very early in the run.
The engine cases have matching numbers.
The cams are decent. There is some wear, so please look at the images. The cams came with the cases. I am assuming that they are correct for this engine. Please do your own checks. The numbers stamped on the cams appear to read 2SB.
The connecting rod and flywheels. Not much to say really, the connecting rod looks straight and the rest is two lumps of metal. Expect some play.
The engine cases. No cracks or welds. The engine number is clear and has not been tampered with. There are two casing fastenings that will need work.I have shown them in the images. They will need to be welded and re-drilled. The is a tiny repair / weld required to the flange on the inside. The cases close tightly.
If, for some reason, you want just the cases, crank, cams, please don’t expect them to be one-third of the current total price. I have discounted the items as I am selling them in one go.
