In 1963, Phillip H. Smith from Ilkley, Yorkshire, compiled the first book on the event. It was called ‘The Greatest of All Trials’.
It’s a great read.
I have been going through my collection of books and have discovered that I have three copies of this book. Two are going up for sale. It seems that they are hard to find.
The book has plenty of images and great stories.
This copy was published by George Stevens in 1963 in association with Colin Venton Ltd, the Uffington Press. Interestingly, the other copy has a piece of paper glued over “Colin Venton etc, a an address in Wales is in place.Perhaps this was George Stevens’ address?
Good condition but definitely read. The staples are intact.
