Smiths Chronometric Speedometer 467/1/L , 0-80 mph, Brockhouse Indian Brave, R & S ,248cc 1954-7.
This speedo is listed in the Smiths catalogue as being issued to the Brockhouse range of bikes as follows:
- Indian Brave 248cc 1954 and 1955
- R & S 248cc 1955 to 1957.
It might suit an Ariel Red Hunter, but I’m not certain on that. They were issued with 467/3/L.
Condition: Well, it’s used and only tested with a drill. It’s being sold on the basis that it will need refurbishment. However, if I was going to use it, I’d try it on a bike first.
If it didn’t work properly, then I’d send it to a repairer. As you can see, it needs a good clean. The bezel is worn.
