Triumph Model H motorcycle engine spares + Triumph Model H motorcycle engine spares + 1915 Thomson-Bennett CL dynamo

Triumph Model H motorcycle engine spares including 1915 Thomson-Bennett CL dynamo.

This is a selection of mostly used Triumph Model H motorcycle engine spares. Please take a look through the images to see what is included. I believe they will mostly suit a pre-1920 Model H flat tank bike.

There are:

  • Valve guides. Showing “over-size”in hand writing on tape
  • A big-end
  • Various hard-to-find nuts
  • x 3 gudgeon pins. One marked “worn” but the others look OK.
  • Various springs (clutch and valve)
  • Model H kickstart spring
  • Brake pedal spring
  • x 2 clutch spring guides
  • Push-rod guides
  • The Thomson-Bennet CL dynamo that appears to have been restored.

I prefer to sell everything in one go. However, I am prepared to separate the Thomson-Bennett dynamo if it’s not required.

I believe this is a Thomson-Bennet, rather than a Lucas LC1 dynamo. Mostly because it says CL, rather than LC1. Also, it does not show “Lucas”on it anywhere. As far as I know, Lucas always stated their brand on their items. Thomson-Bennett was bought out by Lucas in the late teens. So,I think the 1915 stamp is possibly the year of production. It does have another stamp that says “5/25”.If it was Lucas, it would be logical to say that this was a May 1925 production. However, as stated, they always branded their items and didn’t actually produce a CL model as far as I know.

So, I’m going to stick with this being a 1915 Thomson-Bennett CL dynamo unless someone can be certain that it isn’t. (no guesses please. I can guess on my own 🙂 )

If you have an early Triumph Model H. Or if you are restoring one, this collection of Triumph Model H motorcycle engine spares will be very handy to have in your workshop. You can buy some of these parts new, but things like valve guides and pushrod guides are harder to get.

I am pretty sure that it is very difficult to buy an original, restored, 1915 Thomson-Bennett CL dynamo.

So, this is your chance.

I usually have a selection of early Triumph parts. I used to have a SD Model and built up a big collection of spares. I don’t advertise all of my spares, so just ask if you don’t see what you need.
