Triumph Pre-Unit Rigid Frame gearbox.
1946-1949. Please have a good look at the images. I’m not aware that they changed during those years. The main case has a cast number T264A – SM. The gearbox has a number is TE112427.
T264 seems to be just prewar and T264A / B seem to be post war. By 1950 the cases had T909 and T910 on them.
So, I guess the part number for this one is 57-0264A. Please refer to your parts list before believing a word I’ve said here.
Condition. The box has the selector indicator and the casings are generally OK. The outer case is fine but some of the items like the kick start mechanism is missing. The threads need a clean but they are OK and there are no obvious cracks in the usual places. The usual damage has occurred to the clutch adjuster loop on the inner case. I’m told it’s a fairly simple fix. It needs welding and tapping.
It’s being sold as a gearbox needing rebuild as I haven’t touched it. It turns fine.
