Triumph T20 Tiger Cub motorcycle petrol tank.
1959 to mid-1960’s
F4496
3 gallon capacity
These were first fitted to the standard T20 Tiger Cub in 1959, when Triumph decided on a complete makeover. They added the small bikini panels, re-positioned the oil tank filler and put this larger capacity fuel tank on.
The “Sports tank”, with smaller capacity and sleeker profile, lived on though. Triumph continued to use it on various sporty models such as the T20C Mountain Cub (1957-59), the T20CA ( a low pipe version of the T20C 1958-59), the T20S Scrambler and T20W Woods models between 1959-61, the T20T Trials in 1961, T20SL Scrambler with Lights in 1961, T20SS Street Scrambler in 1962-65, T20SC and T20SR 1962-65, T20 Trials and T20S 1962-65, the infamous and sought-after T20SM and T20M Mountain Cubs 1964-67, and the French Army WD T20M also between 1964-67.
In 1968, Triumph moved over to the T20B Bantam Cub. Initially with the Triumph 3 gallon humped tank and then used the BSA Bantam fuel tank on the T20B Super Cub between 1967 and 1969.
This one is quite tidy. It will still need a good clean out. Externally, it’s in nice shape. It could do with a re-spray as it’s bubbling up in a few places.
It comes as you see it. The mounts are OK and the fuel tap thread will need a clean. It comes with the cap, genuine Triumph badges and knee pads.
