Triumph 5TA T100 500cc Twin & T90 350 motorcycle gearbox gear cluster set #7

Why do I think 5TA? See the number of teeth shown in the list below and compare with those given for a 1960 5TA.

What you see in the images is what is included. Some very minor wear on the Kickstart spindle.

The gears and shafts aren’t perfect. They have suffered very light corrosion in places. Please see the images.

I have a few of these clusters and I’m letting some go as I am now selling the frames, engine cases, crankshafts, fuel tanks, oil tanks, barrels etc that I’ve had carefully stored for planned projects.

You see engine cases come up for sale. But the T100 / T90 gear cluster sets are a little harder to find. Having checked the number of teeth on these gears, it’s likely that it could be used on a 1960 (ish) 5TA. One gear is marked T1414 and that is definitely Low gear with 32T for the 5TA.

Here is a list of parts for this set so that you can decide if the set suits your needs:

Layshaft:

T1414 Low Gear 32T.(5TA is listed in parts book as T1414 32T)
T? (not stamped) 3rd gear 23T. (5TA is listed in parts book as T1413 23T)
The layshaft. It comes with 2nd and high gears (Not stamped but likely T1479)
T? 2nd gear 28T(5TA is listed as having 28T)
T? High gear 18T (5TA is listed as having 18T)
Kick start spindle with Terrington Needle Roller Bearing, together with pawl, plunger and spring assembly. Not stamped but likely T1445. Please have a good look at this as I have shown a few images.

Mainshaft:

T? (not stamped) High gear 26T (5TA is listed in parts book as T1403 26T)
T? (not stamped) 2nd gear 23T (5TA is listed in parts book as T1410 23T)
T? (not stamped) 28T (5TA is listed in parts book as 28T combined Low and 3rd gears T1406)
T? (not stamped) 19T (5TA is listed in parts book as 19T combined Low and 3rd gears T1406)
