Used PAIR leather motorcycle tool boxes – Useful for a variety of vintage or veteran motorcycles including Scott
I have shown an image below of a 1929 Scott Flying Squirrel with very similar leather motorcycle tool boxes.
They aren’t as long as most tool boxes that were used by similar vintage motorcycles. The dimensions of the metal container are:
- Length: 7-3/8″ (187mm)
- Height: 3-3/4″ (97mm)
- Depth (Front to back): 3-1/2″ (89mm)
Note that these boxes can be hung onto the frame, rather that have to sit inside a frame within the rear carrier. They have two holes at the rear for fixing.
Condition of the leather motorcycle tool boxes
They are used and have marks. These are probably not original. They are quite old and will need to be restored (if that’s your thing). They are far from perfect.
The leather fronts are in good condition. They could do with some leather feed. The straps are still attached and some of the buckles work. The metal containers are fine. The containers have a few paint scrapes as you would expect and have some light surface corrosion. One of the little leather tabs (that is used to pull the leather front open) is detached. I have put it inside the box.
Overall, you can choose. Completely refurbish them, or just leave them as they are with all of their minor faults.
