Velocette GTP Amal 4/127 Brass Carburettor with float bowl – SOLD

Velocette GTP Amal 4/127 Brass Carburettor with float bowl – SOLD

NOW SOLD

1933-1939 vintage Velocette 250cc 2-stroke GTP motorcycle Amal 4/127 Brass Carburettor with float bowl.

This vintage motorcycle brass Amal 4/127 carb was supplied to Velocette for the GTP 250cc two stroke. It needs complete refurbishment. However, apart from the obvious change to the choke arrangement, this carb is largely complete. It even comes with the original float bowl with the float inside. The bowl number is 22-023. I believe that this carb was issued with a float bowl numbered 62-099. I’ve looked though my parts list of early Amac float bowls and can’t find 22-023. However, I can see that many 1930’s 250cc motorcycles were issued with float bowls beginning with “22”. Either way, this is the bowl that was attached to the carb when I got it.

As I understand it, there was a slight change to the main jet for 1937-39 models.

  • 1933-36 Main jet was 4/042-65
  • 1937-39 Main jet was 4/042-70

These don’t come up very often.

If you would like it rebuilt, I can put you in touch with someone who will rebuild and refurbish this for you.

Other vintage motorcycle carbs to include Amac, B&B, SU, Amal,: I have some. Please get in touch.
