This is a pair of engine cases in a rough and ready state for a 1936 Velocette KSS Mk2. I say “1936”. That’s an educated guess as the clear engine number suggests they were made then.
The engine number is KSS 7223.
I have no idea if these are a matched pair. You can normally tell by matching the two sets of numbers. However, I happen to have another single case for the timing side. The number on that is exactly the same as the timing-side case that I’m selling here. I guess if you have a KSS, you’re probably chuckling at my puzzlement. Anyway, you have two cases here. One is the timing side and one is the case with the engine number.
They have suffered a little with the usual light corrosion. They are a long way off a deeply pitted disaster though. They ought to polish up well. Just one bolt fixing has a tiny bit of damage. It’s one of the lower casing bolts. (Shown in the images)
