Velocette MAC 350cc, prewar vintage motorcycle, early Cast Iron Cylinder Head, Rocker Box, Caps, Rocker arms.
The iron cylinder head has 00103 cast on it. It’s in good condition overall. It comes fitted with the valves, springs etc. However, I have not rebuilt the head. The valves are the ones that came with it and you would be advised to disassemble them to check the seats and guides. The iron fins are in surprisingly good shape. There is the tiniest of nibbles in the area around one of the stud holes. I have made a point of photographing it. Most people wouldn’t even glance at it.
The rocker boxes have matching upper and lower halves. (see the pic with matching numbers). There is a very small amount of corrosion on the tip of the upper rocker box. It comes with the caps and springs, together with rocker arms. The caps do not have any fixings with them. The rockers will need to be loosened up a bit.
Bottom line. This is a nice Velocette MAC prewar iron cylinder head and rocker box assembly. It just needs a little bit more work to make sure it all runs smoothly.
I have other Velocette parts. In fact, I currently have an iron barrel MAC engine available. I have plenty of rocker boxes and a few cylinder heads. Just ask.
