Veteran Motorcycle saddle for sale. Original Vintage Leatheries Empire De Luxe Pan seat with seat post clamp.
I believe this is Model type 87 as in the Leatheries seat / saddle catalogue. Pics showing the front cover and page with the seat displayed.
I am probably going to regret selling this beautiful Leatheries De Luxe 12″ pan seat. As you can see, the original leather top is not fitted. It will need repairs. Or it is ideal for a pattern. It comes with the original Leatheries Empire De Luxe model brass badge. It also comes with a nice nickel plated seat post clamp fitted.
The pan seat base has been restored. It is original by the look of some marks.
It’s just a lovely thing.
It was destined for my 1915 Calthorpe but I now have a slightly smaller veteran Brooks saddle. As Leatheries supplied many motorcycle makers, it could be used on much later, 1920’s, vintage motorcycles. It would look great on an unrestored Pioneer bike, if you got someone to work some magic on the leather seat cover.
