Vintage Douglas 2.75 flat tank motorcycle gearbox Model W21 dated 1921.
I regularly get asked for two items when it comes to Douglas 2 3/4 flat tank motorcycles. A gearbox and a carburettor with the manifold. I already have a gearbox, so I am offering this one up.
The gearbox is numbered and has the letters CG stamped. The stamp CG denotes that this gearbox was made for the model W21. Although, I am quite sure that it would be suitable for other models and years.
I have not tested the gearbox. It turns smoothly and there are no obvious cracks or welds. It looks like the only part that is missing, is the drain plug.
I happen to have a crank that would suit this set of Douglas 2 3/4 barrels. The crank has connecting rods. I also have a set of crank cases. I also have a Pair Standard size Vintage Douglas 2.75 flat tank motorcycle engine barrels, pistons, gudgeon pins & rings. These items are not included in the sale here. I just mention them in case there is interest.
A set of vintage Douglas 2.75hp engine barrels in this condition are hard to find.
