Vintage motorcycle Triumph model P Girder forks & front wheel with hub.
While the Triumph Model P was one of the models that was produced in large quantities, It’s still rare to find a “front end” with girder forks, wheel and hub / brake plate. This set of Triumph model P Girder forks even comes with some new brake shoes.
The vintage Triumph Model P had an 18″ rim on the rear and a 19″ front wheel. The front wheel has a 26″ x 3″tyre. The rim fitted to this set is suitable as a 3″ wide rim fits and it’s 19″.
The girder forks only have what you see. I don’t have the other parts including the stem.
The hub looks to be correct for a Model P. It comes with the brake plate, complete with actuator and new friction material.
The forks might suit the Triumph NSD. You decide.
Condition of the Triumph model P Girder forks & front wheel with hub
They are sturdy. The forks look straight. The wheel is an old one. They have been painted prior to me owning them. they look solid though.
The girders are a little pitted under the paint, but no more than you’d expect. The wheel rim is decent.
The brake plate is likely a recently made one. The actuator moves and it appears to have a new set of brake shoes. It looks like the brake rim could do with a clean-up. This isn’t some cobbled-together hub and brake plate. The nut that holds the brake plate on is the correct one as it has been let-in to centre the brake plate.
One observation though. I am not certain that the spindle is correct. It looks too short as the outer nuts work but there’s not really enough thread to show when tightened up. (I have shown this in a close-up picture)
Other early Triumph parts.
Occasionally, I have some early Triumph parts. I used to have a Model SD and kept a stock of spares. They have slowly dwindled to few very small items. However, I get offered parts regularly. So, please get in touch and let me know what you need.
In the meantime, please browse the early Triumph parts as the old Triumph spares come and go quickly.
