Vintage or Veteran brass Powell & Hanmer P&H carbide sidecar lamp with acetylene gas producer.
This is a lovely carbide set for your sidecar. It would grace a veteran chair, or a later 1920’s combination outfit.
It would suit all makes as P&H sold their wares as accessories.
It’s unusual to find a P&H carbide sidecar lamp with the appropriately-sized acetylene gas producer. The acetylene gas generator is approximately 5″ tall, so it sill fit neatly on the frame. The generator comes with a frame clamp. I am not 100% that the generator is actually a P&H one. It think it is.
The P&H carbide sidecar lamp is now in polished brass. It may have been supplied in this finish. It may have been supplied with a coat of black paint. It’s a lovely lamp. Th model number is 157 and the glass diameter is 2-3/4″. That’s the glass diameter and not the total width of the cover.

Both of these brass accessories are in good overall condition, considering they are at least 100 years old.
Neither of them have been tested for producing acetylene gas, or for the desired flame inside the lamp.
The brass acetylene gas producer has a couple of little dinks in it. You can see these from the images.
The lamp has a recently-made mounting bracket. The lamp is in excellent condition. The glass is good and the front opens and closes well.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.
