I know… This is a motorcycle page and the old leather Wrights saddle featured here is likely for a 1960’s British Bicycle.
However, I just thought that many people must have the same needs as me. We are all looking for old leather saddles for our 1910 to 1925 motorcycles and can’t get good saddles with patina. I happen to have owned a few of these old leather bicycle saddles for a few years and have now chosen the ones that I want to keep. The rest are now available.
The leather on this Wrights saddle is in decent condition. It is not all soft and saggy. It has retained its shape and the embossed “Wrights” emblem is still clear enough. Overall, it’s in good shape with one exception. As shown in the images, it needs a couple of tack welds to the lower chassis near to the seat post clamp.
It is not a restored example. The springs have light patina. It’s an inexpensive vintage leather saddle that could be used on an early flat tank motorcycle while you look for the perfect motorcycle saddle.
