WD, 1944,Matchless G3L vintage motorcycle set of engine cases with original War Dept plate, in good condition.
This crankcase number 93210 is from WD contract S.6150, awarded 15th March 1944 for 10,000 bikes. This was part of the final “push” in the run up to D-Day. It was the last contract awarded to Matchless. Only 6089 machines were ever delivered out of the 10,000 ordered (engine numbers 90000 to 96088). So, these cases were made mid-run in this last batch for the War Department.
( Thanks to Nick for the info here)
These cases are in great condition. The original iron engine number plaque is still firmly attached and reads:
- MATCHLESS
- (Engine number): 93210
- Part number: 41 G3L E701
