West Coast Triumph T100 gas fuel petrol tank 1967-on – SOLD

West Coast Triumph T100 gas fuel petrol tank 1967-on – SOLD

NOW SOLD

West Coast Triumph T100 gas fuel petrol tank, 1967-on.

This is a fairly rare T100 gas tank. It’s not the earlier T100 SC / T100 SR West coast / East coast tank with the four fixing points. This one has the tab at the rear. So, it’s from 1967. I think it would look great on a Triumph Daytona T100R or T100T.

I have said “West coast”. It can be East Coast USA as well. However, I think the export tanks for the East Coast had a facility for the tank rack on some models. The USA tanks were prettier in shape s they were smaller and some were seamless.

What makes this West Coast Triumph T100 gas fuel petrol tank different from an ordinary British Triumph tank made for the domestic market?

– Twin fuel taps that come out at an angle.
– 3 point fixing (so it’s not the early West Coast one that had 4) and places it from 1967.
– Longer coil apertures.
– Smaller capacity
– A small built-in indent at the front aperture.
– Flatter / lower front mountings
– No seam
– It’s generally smaller and is certainly narrower at the back. As shown when compared to a domestic British tank from the same era. The yellow tank is much wider.
NOTE: The yellow tank IS NOT included in this sale. I am showing it here so that you can compare with a standard tank.
A possible clue to the year of supply, is the original blue paint showing in the frame tunnel. I think it’s Pacific Blue. However, I may not be right on that. Triumph had so many versions of blue. Azure blue, Blue sheen, Crystal blue, Kingfisher blue, among others.

Condition of the West Coast Triumph T100 gas fuel petrol tank

It’s just as I bought it from a tank specialist years ago. He usually lined tanks. However, in this case, he just cleaned it. It was that good. You will see a small amount of moisture has got in there at the bottom during storage. This will clean up very easily with just vinegar and coca cola. No need for fancy products.
Externally, it’s very good under. I didn’t paint it. So, I don’t know if there is any filler. However, it looks very good to me. No nasty dings or rust. It just needs a re-paint.
The threads are all fine.
If you have been looking for a West Coast Triumph T100 gas fuel petrol tank, this is your opportunity to get one.

Other Triumph T100 parts

I still have some left over from my T100 phase. Please have a look through the Triumph parts, or just ask. I haven’t added all of the small parts yet.
