Yes, that’s me on the GT380, with flares and platform shoes!
I don’t recall riding the bike with those shoes on but I can still hear the triple 2-stroke singing in the high street. There were two 2-strokes that had distinct sounds at the time. The Suzuki GT’s and the Kawasaki KH’s.
This little trip down memory lane was prompted when I delivered an Ariel 600cc single engine to a nice chap in Northants (UK) two weeks ago. When I arrived, I couldn’t help but notice a fantastic GT380 on his drive. It was ready for a quick test ride and looked like new. Everything came flooding back.
Sometimes, I think most of us are always looking for the bikes that we had in our early years. I know I am. So, if anyone has a nice GT380 that they are prepared to part with, please let me know.
