1916 Calthorpe Vintage Veteran lightweight motorcycle fuel gas petrol tank.
This original tank really needs a new base soldering in. It has had work in the past but really could do with an entire new base. It’s too good to just have as a pattern. It even comes with some of the mount fixings as shown.
I believe the tank was used with the Calthorpe-Jap 2 3/4hp from around 1916. However, the 1922 272cc lightweight motorcycle has a similar tank. Maybe they continued to use the tank for many years.
On the base, the maker has left their brass label. It reads: E.C Edwards, 88 Edward St, Parade, Birmingham. Serial number 13 and Type LC2 (or LC3). I can’t decide if it’s a 2 or a 3.
If you have any doubts about buying it for your motorcycle, please ask for dimensions.

Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.
Payment: This site has a facility to pay online. Good old fashioned money on collection is preferred. I can accept payment through PayPal or by bank transfer as well.
Import Taxes: Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
