7/8″ vintage motorcycle Bowden carburettor RH23.
Right side of a pair. This carb is stamped with the model (RH23) and the sequential number, 61701.
I don’t have the other one for this pair. It came to me with a few carburettors that I was interested in for my own needs.
The through-flow is 7/8″ and the stud mount centres are the conventional 2″ apart.
It comes with the original Bowden air filter which has a couple of Patent numbers stamped on it.
Aside from making cables and levers, they made carburettors. Mr Bowden owned Raleigh motorcycles too.
I couldn’t find out much about this Bowden carburettor. There was a model 27 that was supplied for a British motorbike. I understand that Douglas motorcycles might have had Bowden carburettors as an option to the more conventional Amal 276. In particular the Models, 80+ and 90+.
Of course, it could belong to a motor mower!
Anyway, I imagine that if you are reading this, you are looking for a RH23 Bowden carburettor. Here’s your chance.
Condition of the Bowden carburettor
Being sold as it is. I haven’t cleaned it or taken it apart. The butterfly works fine.
Other vintage motorcycle carburettors
I have a few. Please see my other listings here.
