BSA Flat tank vintage motorcycle two-way Petrol tap K462 1914- 1926

BSA Flat tank vintage motorcycle two-way Petrol tap K462 1914- 1926

1914 to 1926, various models, two-way Petrol tap K462 BSA Flat tank vintage motorcycle.

The tap turns freely but still with enough resistance. I have preserved the patina, rather than polish it to death. That would be your choice. The threads are nice and are shown in the images.

I have looked though my BSA parts books and the following is the best that I can do to advise which models this was fitted to. Of course, it may have been fitted to others.

  • 1914-1920 4 1/4hp
  • 1923 2 3/4hp and 3 1/2hp
  • 1921-1923 4 1/4hp
  • 1920-1921 6 and 7 hp
  • 1922-1923 8hp
  • 1924 – 2 3/4hp SV, 3 1/2hp, 4 1/4hp, 6 and 8hp.
  • 1925 – 2 3/4hp SV, 3 1/2hp, 4 1/4hp, 6 and 8hp.
  • 1926 – 3.49hp SV, 4.93hp, 5.57hp, 7.7hp, 9.86hp

After 1926, the BSA two-way petrol tap seems to have been dropped from the models.

If you’re interested in this, it might be worth looking through my other parts as I currently have a BSA sight glass (the one with the two outlets) attached to a Best and Lloyd hand oil pump.
