Norton International Close Ratio (CR) gear set cluster for Dolls Head gearbox, with kick start.
I’ve had this gear cluster for a little while. I’ve had a few Dolls Head gearboxes, but this is the only gear set with Close Ratio gears. The gears are in decent condition.
After a little research, they appear to be for the Norton International with a kick start. There’s a small mix of Norton and Sturmey Archer gears, but the number of teeth as a combination seems to match the Norton International CR version.
Layshaft
- 27T N8043 Close Ratio Kickstart pinion
- 22t N8039 Close Ration Sliding pinion
- 20T N8037 Close ratio Free pinion
- 19T (Possibly N8033. No numbers stamped). Layshaft pinion
Main shaft
- 23T LS401B Sturmey Archer
- 22T EIV 6A Sturmey Archer Sliding pinion
- 20T No number but likely N8038 Close Ratio Free pinion
- 14T N8042 Close Ratio main shaft pinion
I happen to have a Dolls Head gearbox case and cover that could be bought separately. I’m just selling the gear cluster set here.
Please cross-check that the number teeth are correct for your needs.
