Original BSA B-Series or M-Series prewar (possibly Post-war) vintage British motorcycle petrol tank
Why pay shipping + import fees from India, when you can buy this one for much less?
I believe that this fuel tank is for one of the lighter prewar B-series models such as the B21 through to B26. It might be for an M20, 21, 22. I am not certain and will happily provide dimensions for you to be sure that you are buying the correct BSA petrol tank for your needs. I am advised that the cap fixing is unlikely to be prewar for the M20 model. Please look at the images carefully and decide if it’s correct for your needs. There is a good chance that it is a B-series tank that is just post-war.
I had a BSA B31 fuel tank before. The main difference between this one and the B31 tank is on the underside. The B31 had two curved recesses. Presumably they were for extra headroom for the larger capacity engine. This tank has one main curved recess.
Anyway, please check the images carefully for design details. It’s an original tank, so it will need cleaning out. Overall, it’s solid. However, as you can see, the paint isn’t great. You can just make out the lines. It retains the fixings for the air pump and the threads look ok. The threads look fine but will probably need a clean out though. Have a look at the right side. It looks like someone has attempted to remove the top fixing for the gear change. It will beed a little sorting out. Also, the front left side has some light dents. All shown in the pictures.
