Original heavyweight Royal Enfield Albion 4-speed gearbox with gear lever.
I am selling this heavyweight RE four speed gearbox for a friend. He has completed his Royal Enfield WD CO project and has now sold the bike. So, this spare Royal Enfield transmission is available.
It is being sold as you see it. I believe that it’s complete but you will have to either rebuild it, or at the very least check it over.
I think these transmissions were used on a variety of Royal Enfield models. I imagine that the Royal Enfield Bullet 350cc and 500cc models used it, in addition to the WD CO 350 O.H.V motorcycles.
Anyway, you decide if it’s correct for your needs.
The dimensions may help you to decide:
- Top mount: 4″ wide
- Lower mount: 4″ wide
- Centre to centre between the top / bottom mount holes: Approx 8-1/2″ with adjustment space.

It turns over nicely.
It comes as you see it. The cover and the case are fairly tidy. There are no huge gouges. I do not see any cracks and the mountings are both undamaged.
The threads look fine. One has a little bit of wear but generally good.
The clutch cable adjuster section on the cover is good.
